Box of socks

Every Christmas I knit hubby some socks to put under the Christmas Tree, although I must admit that they don't always make it under the tree in time for Christmas morning.  This year I decided to start my gift knitting a little earlier in the hope of finishing all knitted and sewn gifts before December.

I found a set of three little suitcases in 'The Works' and decided to use the largest one to keep hubby's half completed socks in.

I'm knitting him three pairs, and as you can see I'm doing the first sock of all three pairs before moving on to the second ones, I'm hoping this will put paid to second sock syndrome.

I'm also knitting the heels and toes in contrasting yarns, this way I keep the stripe pattern consistent. The yarns for both of these socks is King Cole Zig Zag, I'm thrilled that my local yarn shop has now started stocking a good variety of sock yarns and have also just signed up to stock a good range of King Cole.

I also have a pair of socks on the needles for me, the yarn is Bergere de France Goomy 50 in the Imprim Beige colourway.

So, an awful lot of sock knitting going on around here at the moment.

  2. Ooooh....your socks are gorgeous! Love all the pretty colours and the patterns....just beautiful. The 'We're going on a bear hunt' suitcases are sweet. I used to read that book to my girls all the time when they were little.
